Vietnamese Joint-Stock Company of Agroforestry Development and Environment (CAFDAE) was established on May 19th, 2016 and was granted enterprise certificate by the Thai Nguyen provincial Department of Planning and Investment operating as a Joint-Stock Company with business code. 4601292139 and Science and Technology Enterprise Certificate No. 02/2016/DK-DNKHCN of Thai Nguyen Department of Science and Technology.
On February 13, 2017, the Company was granted an investment certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment of Ha Giang province, on opening a branch of CAFDAE in Ha Giang province with enterprise code: 4601292139-001 and were granted the Certificate of Science and Technology Enterprise No. 02/DNKHCN by the Department of Science and Technology of Ha Giang province on April 2, 2018.
As one of the first Science and Technology Enterprises in Vietnam, formed from the results of the Project on “Perfecting in-vitro propagation technology and cultivating some of precious medicinal plants with high economic value (Lan Kim Tuyen (Anoectochilus setaceus Blume), Linh Chi (Polycias fruticosa L.Harms.) and Gung Gio (Zingber zerumber Sm.). Code: CT-592.DABKHCN.04.2015 chaired by the Forest Research and Development Institute under the Science and Technology Program to support the development of Science and Technology Enterprises and public science and technology organizations to implement the self-reliance and self-responsibility mechanism of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Therefore, the company has fully gathered advanced elements in terms of science and technology to serve production.
From 2016 to now, the company signed a cooperation agreement on investment in building linkage models, transferring science and technology and commercializing scientific and technological products with the Institute of Forestry Research and Development now renamed as the Institute of Forestry & Sustainable Development), Thai Nguyen Univeristy of Agriculture and Forestry, including: Breeding and farming technologies with 40 species of medicinal plants with high economic value according to GACP-WHO standards, including: Sam Ngoc Linh (Panax vietnamensis), Lan Kim Tuyen (Anoectochilus setaceus), Dinh Lang (Polyscias fruticosa) ), Gung Gio (Zingber zerumbert ), Ha Thu O Do (Fallopia multiflora), Hoang Tinh Do (Polygonatum kingianum), Ba kich (Morinda officinalis ), Dang Sam (Codonopsis sp.), Thong Dat (Huperzia squarrosa), .... The results of scientific research have been successfully applied and implemented in practice, especially in the northern mountainous provinces such as Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Son La, Yen Bai, Bac Kan, and Thanh. Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Nam…. within the production and trading system of high-quality seedlings as well as the implementation of the model of planting in intensive medicinal areas according to GACP-WHO standards of the Company.
The company has received and perfected the production processes of medicinal mushrooms on an industrial scale and semi-naturally, including: Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris), Nam Linh Chi Do (Ganoderma sp.), Nam Lim Xanh (Ganoderma lucidum), ... Medicinal mushroom products have been consumed in the market and are highly appreciated for their product quality. Cordyceps product brand is licensed for food safety by the Ministry of Health
In particular, the company is focusing on essential oil products from Cinnamon, Anise, Melaleuca, and consulting & developing OCOP products for Thai Nguyen and Ha Giang province.
Currently, the company has been operating in the field of breeding, farming and expanding production areas for precious medicinal plants in mountainous areas, especially under the canopy of natural forests, plantations towards organic and natural purpose in order to solve the livelihood problems and increase income for ethnic minorities. The company is also building a preliminary processing factory to purchase products from local people and establish medicinal herbs value chains to supply preliminarily processed materials for pharmaceutical companies to produce medicine and functional foods.
The company has been registered and certified as a Science and Technology enterprise since 2018.
